The show’s creators have reportedly secured a lucrative deal to produce another film over a decade after the second installment achieved significant box office success.

In an recent interview, the 57-year-old comedian expressed his excitement at the prospect of a third film and humorously hinted at repercussions if he is not included in the project. Despite the main cast members, Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, and Blake Harrison, now being in their 40s, speculation suggests they, along with James Buckley, may reprise their roles for the new movie set to be released on Netflix.

Davies, who portrayed the strict headteacher Mr. Gilbert, reflected on the enduring popularity of his character and the likelihood of familiar faces returning for the upcoming film. The show’s original creators, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, are said to have finalized a deal with Netflix, aiming to bring back key characters like Emily Atack’s Charlotte Hinchcliffe and the parents of the main protagonists.

Prior to his successful acting career, Davies, who hails from St Asaph, North Wales, spent 13 years as a drama teacher, drawing inspiration from his former students for his comedic material. Meanwhile, Joe Thomas, who played Simon Cooper in the series, expressed reservations about revisiting the characters, citing the challenges of portraying individuals at different life stages.
