US President Donald Trump allegedly skipped a faith event supported by the White House to play golf. The event at the National Mall on May 17, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and emphasizing the Church’s historical and civic role, drew thousands. While attendees gathered, the president was reportedly enjoying his time at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.
The Freedom 250 website characterized the celebration as a significant occasion uniting Americans from diverse backgrounds to commemorate the nation’s 250th birthday through Scripture, testimony, prayer, and recommitment to God as One Nation.
Trump, in a social media post on Truth Social, extended well-wishes to the participants of the event, indicating his availability for assistance. Despite being scheduled to deliver a video message, reports revealed that Trump spent a substantial part of the afternoon at his golf club, arriving just before 1 pm and departing around 4:20 pm.
This incident is not unique, as Trump has been frequently spotted at his golf clubs on Sundays. According to data from Did Trump Golf Today, he played golf 106 times in his first 483 days back in office, amounting to approximately 21.9% of his presidency. In a similar occurrence last month, Trump opted out of the Easter Service to tour D.C. in a motorcade and visit Trump National Golf Club.
On the same day, Trump posted a message condemning Iran with strong language while also invoking Allah.
