Police have unveiled fresh surveillance video footage in their search for a suspect following a stabbing incident that left a man in critical condition after an attack on a pathway cutting through a golf course in Stafford.
The victim, a man in his 60s, is currently in critical condition in the hospital after being assaulted on Newport Road around 7 pm on Thursday, May 14. Investigators suspect that he was walking through the Castlefields neighborhood when he was ambushed from behind and severely harmed.
The CCTV footage is from the Castlefields vicinity shortly after the assault occurred. Of particular importance is the man’s actions at that time, as he was observed fleeing the scene. Authorities are urging anyone who may recognize him or have seen him on that evening to come forward promptly.
In a statement, a police representative mentioned, “We’re also asking people to consider if anyone they know returned home with unexplained injuries or has been exhibiting unusual behavior either before or after the incident.”
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Fitzgerald, the lead investigator, stated, “This is an active investigation, and we are pursuing numerous leads.
