The family of a talented young student who was tragically discovered deceased at her residence in Norfolk expressed their deep sorrow after her unexpected passing.
Adriana Retyte, a 14-year-old enthusiastic soccer player known for spreading joy and laughter, passed away at the hospital two days after emergency services responded to her home in Ashwellthorpe, Norfolk, around 10pm on May 8.
Despite receiving CPR at the scene, the teenager was later transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where she unfortunately succumbed on May 10.
During an inquest at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, it was revealed that Adriana’s cause of death was determined to be hanging.
In a heartfelt message on Facebook, Adriana’s mother, Greta Saggers, 31, shared the family’s grief, thanking everyone for their support during the challenging period.
Greta Saggers, who serves as a managing director at Anglian Recruitment in Norwich, also works alongside her husband at Strand Development Limited, a prominent sponsor of Wymondham Rugby Club and Taverham Toucans, the youth girls’ football team Adriana was a part of.
Numerous tributes have flooded in for Adriana through a fundraising effort to aid Papyrus, a charity focusing on youth suicide prevention.
Reflecting on the fundraiser page, Sofiia Katrechko expressed deep sadness over Adriana’s premature passing and cherished the joyful moments they shared together.
Adriana, born on February 27, 2012, in Drogheda, Ireland, was a Year 9 student at Langley School in Norfolk, where she was highly regarded for her kindness, positive demeanor, and active engagement in various school activities.
A funeral service for Adriana is scheduled at St Faith’s Crematorium in Norwich on May 21, while a full inquest into the circumstances surrounding her death is set for October 16.
Langley School extended its condolences to the family and friends of Adriana, emphasizing her significant contributions to the school community and the lasting impact she had on those around her.
