Tesco has issued a warning that Clubcard vouchers worth £17 million are set to expire by the end of the current month.

The supermarket distributes Clubcard vouchers every three months – in February, May, August, and November – with a validity period of two years. The vouchers in question, initially distributed in May 2024, will lose their value after May 31 at 11.59 pm. Customers of Tesco earn Clubcard points for their purchases in-store or at Tesco fuel stations.

Aside from in-store purchases, points can also be accumulated through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile. For instance, using a Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco results in five points for every £4 spent, or one point for every £8 spent elsewhere. Additionally, Tesco Mobile users earn one Clubcard point for each £1 spent on monthly bills or top-ups.

A minimum of 150 points is necessary to receive a Clubcard voucher, valued at £1.50 for spending at Tesco. By utilizing Clubcard vouchers with Rewards Partners like Pizza Express, Alton Towers, or Hotels.com, customers can maximize their value.

To extend the expiration date of vouchers, customers can make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards webpage, with the remaining balance credited back to the Clubcard account. Spending as little as 50p ensures the maximum amount is returned to the account. For example, using a £5 voucher for a 50p purchase will yield 450 points worth £4.50, with a validity of two years for the new vouchers.

Currently, Tesco boasts over 24 million Clubcard members. Shama Wilson, the Tesco Group Membership and Loyalty Director, emphasized the significant quarter for Clubcard voucher expirations, urging customers to utilize their vouchers for discounts on various offerings like food, attractions, railcards, and hotel bookings to save money during this period.
