Actor Finnian Garbutt, 28, Shares Heartbreaking Health Update

Finnian Garbutt, known for his roles in Casualty and Hope Street, has shared the heartbreaking news that he is in the final stages of life at the young age of 28. On his Instagram account, Finnian has documented his four-year battle with cancer along with highlights from his life. In September 2025, he posted pictures from his wedding to Louise at Maghermorne Estate in Northern Ireland, where they were surrounded by loved ones, including their daughter.

In November, Finnian attended the premiere of his film House Jackers at the Belfast Film Festival, indicating a peak in his acting career. He gained recognition for his role as PC Ryan Power in the crime drama Hope Street. Following his recent health update, a spokesperson from the BBC, where Finnian had a significant role in Hope Street, expressed their support and thoughts for him.

Throughout his time on Hope Street, Finnian shared behind-the-scenes snapshots with co-stars like Niamh McGrady, Tara Lynne O’Neill, and Cameron Cuffe. Additionally, he appeared in Casualty and showcased his talent as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast.

In a recent post, Finnian revealed that his cancer had progressed rapidly, leading to the realization that he is now in the final stages of life. Despite the difficult news, he expressed gratitude for achieving many life milestones, including his work on television, leading roles in movies, homeownership, marriage, and becoming a father.
