Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have chosen a luxurious honeymoon retreat to relax after a public family dispute during their wedding. The couple is currently enjoying their time in Mauritius at a high-end five-star resort with rates exceeding £6,000 per night.
Located on a secluded private peninsula along the coastline, the resort offers a peaceful escape for the newlyweds away from the family tensions they faced back home. The Olympic swimmer, 31, and his 26-year-old bride exchanged vows at Bath Abbey on December 27, with family discord overshadowing the celebrations.
Leading up to the wedding, Adam found himself at odds with his mother, Caroline, and brother, James, resulting in only his sister Bethany attending the ceremony. The rift began when Caroline was excluded from Holly’s hen do, sparking a series of disputes that intensified prior to the wedding.
Despite the unresolved family situation, Adam and Holly are focusing on their marriage while indulging in their long-awaited honeymoon. The couple postponed their 10-day trip due to Adam’s swimming commitments in Romania before finally departing from London to Mauritius.
Upon arrival, they were seen heading to the resort’s white sandy beach, where Adam took selfies and interacted with locals. Holly has shared glimpses of their idyllic holiday on Instagram, showcasing moments of relaxation by the shore and next to a pool.
Their current accommodation, which has hosted renowned figures like Nelson Mandela, Rihanna, George and Amal Clooney, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, offers villas that have sold for as much as £10.1 million, with helicopter transport available for guests.
The extravagant honeymoon was a gift from Holly’s parents, Gordon and Tana Ramsay. Holly expressed her excitement about their trip to Mauritius, emphasizing the relaxation by the sea as her parents’ wedding gift. The couple’s honeymoon follows a dramatic wedding day, marked by Gordon Ramsay’s controversial remarks and Adam’s omission of his parents from his speech.
Instead of mentioning his parents, Adam praised his swim coach Mel Marshall, referring to her as his “everything” and like a mother figure. Caroline, Adam’s mother, expressed her sorrow over being excluded from the wedding, describing it as having her heart torn out.
The couple is now enjoying their time together in Mauritius, leaving the wedding drama behind as they focus on their honeymoon.
