“Airline Disruptions Amid Iran Tensions”

The ongoing conflict with Iran is causing disruptions in air travel, leading airlines to reduce services and leaving passengers uncertain about their travel plans.

British Airways announced on Tuesday the suspension of all flights to Dubai until June due to escalating tensions related to retaliatory strikes linked to Iran. Residents reported explosions overnight, prompting the decision.

Emirates is offering guidance to passengers with bookings up to April 15, allowing them to rebook on alternative flights or request full refunds.

Cathay Pacific also announced the cancellation of all passenger flights to Dubai and Riyadh until April 30 due to the unstable situation in the Middle East region.

Emirates Airlines is accommodating passengers with flights booked between February 28 and April 15, offering options to either request refunds or reschedule their trips.

Passengers can initiate refund requests by completing the form at http://emirat.es/refund. The processing of refunds may take up to 15 days.

Flight rebookings can be done until May 31, 2026. Emirates advises passengers to rebook within 72 hours of their original travel date by visiting http://emirat.es/managebooking or using the Emirates App. For later bookings, passengers are urged to seek assistance at http://emirat.es/support or http://emirat.es/xdm.

British Airways has extended flight cancellations to multiple destinations for several months due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

A representative from BA cited the continuing uncertainty and airspace instability in the Middle East as reasons for the cancellations, aiming to provide clarity to customers.

The airline confirmed that flights to Doha are suspended until April 30, while flights to Abu Dhabi are not scheduled until October.

British Airways is increasing flights to and from Singapore and Bangkok to meet the rising demand on these routes due to the situation in the Middle East.

The airline stated, “We are also adding extra flights to and from Singapore (x4) and Bangkok (x3) and exploring options to repatriate more affected customers.”

British Airways has canceled all flights to Dubai until June, aligning with the decision to suspend flights to Amman, Bahrain, and Tel Aviv until May 31, and to Doha until April 30.

Due to a fire caused by an Iranian drone hitting a fuel tank at Dubai International Airport, a plane flying from Edinburgh to Dubai had to turn back, disrupting hundreds of passengers.
