An American tourist is currently missing in the Scottish Highlands, prompting an urgent search effort. Adam Chalmers, 36, was last in contact at 12.40pm on Saturday while hiking in the Ben Lawers mountain range. His plan was to conquer the Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh, and An Stuc Munros, with one peak left to summit.
Described as a white male, 5ft 11in tall, with a stocky build, bald head, and a medium-length brown beard, Chalmers was dressed in a green and blue triangle-patterned fleece, a grey and black waterproof jacket, green walking trousers, a blue cap, and brown boots. He was also carrying a rucksack with orange elastic ties.
Inspector Iain Gillies has urged the public to provide any information regarding Adam’s whereabouts, especially from fellow hillwalkers who were in the Lawers area on Saturday and might have seen him or have relevant details to help track his movements.
Authorities can be contacted at 101, with reference to incident 2881 of May 23.
