Ann Widdecombe’s cat, Aloysius, has been found safe and well despite concerns for its safety following the tragic death of the former politician. Widdecombe, aged 78, passed away last week in what authorities suspect was a deliberate attack at her home in Haytor, Devon. Counter Terror Police have taken charge of the investigation and are continuing their inquiries after arresting a 28-year-old man from Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

A recent update revealed that Aloysius was quickly removed from the scene after Widdecombe’s passing and is currently safe and being well cared for, according to journalist Peter Cardwell. Widdecombe, known for her love of cats, had featured Aloysius in a broadcast expressing worry about the cat’s safety due to potential threats from birds of prey.

Known for her affection for feline companions, Widdecombe once mentioned that her home felt incomplete without cats. She enjoyed giving her pets unique names and believed in choosing humorous monikers for them. Counter-terror officials have confirmed the targeted nature of Widdecombe’s death but have not disclosed any specific motives, emphasizing that all possibilities are being considered.
