Apple has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, confirming earlier predictions. Following the iPhone 16e, the iPhone 17e is positioned as a more budget-friendly option compared to the flagship models, starting at £599, which is significantly lower than the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro.
Key upgrades in the iPhone 17e include a faster A19 chip for improved performance and a C1X cellular modem for faster download speeds. The device boasts a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield glass for durability and enhanced anti-reflective technology. MagSafe, a feature absent in the previous model, enables faster wireless charging and easy attachment of compatible accessories.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 48MP Fusion camera, offering advanced sensor capabilities for versatile shooting. Safety features are also enhanced, with emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection for automatic emergency service contact in case of a severe car accident.
The iPhone 17e will be available in black, white, and a new soft pink finish, with pricing starting at £599. Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, highlighted the device’s exceptional value, combining powerful performance, enhanced durability, and a smarter camera system to cater to users looking to upgrade within the iPhone 17 family.
