Richard Osman, the author of the successful book “The Thursday Murder Club,” has purchased a £9 million residence in London with his wife, Ingrid Oliver, known for her role in “Doctor Who.” The new four-story property surpasses the price of their previous Chiswick home by a significant margin.
The couple invested £9 million in their new five-bedroom house, which features a modern interior despite its traditional exterior. Notably, the property in Richmond offers stunning views of the River Thames, protected by a unique 1902 parliamentary act to preserve the scenery from potential developments.
The decision to move to their new home coincided with the adaptation of Richard’s bestselling novel into a high-budget film by Netflix. The movie, directed by Chris Columbus and featuring renowned actors like Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, also starred Ingrid in a significant role.
Richard and Ingrid tied the knot in 2022, a year after meeting each other. Their love story began with Richard admiring Ingrid’s humor on social media before eventually connecting through mutual friends. Despite Richard having two children from a previous marriage, the couple has embraced their new home with their two adopted rescue cats, Lottie and Liesl.
Reflecting on their relocation, Richard expressed his struggles with change during a podcast discussion, emphasizing the challenges of adapting to a new environment. The couple’s move to a prominent neighborhood also places them among notable past residents like Mick Jagger and Pete Townshend.
