A BBC personality passed away shortly after leaving the hospital following a severe car accident. Lynda Shahwan, a presenter for BBC Radio Wales, was traveling in Canada with her family when their vehicle crashed and overturned. They were taken to Lions Gate Hospital in Vancouver, where Lynda was diagnosed with a fractured rib, collapsed lung, and abdominal bruising.

After being discharged the day after the incident, the family returned home, but Lynda remained in Canada due to her abdominal injuries. Tragically, when her family couldn’t reach her on July 19th, Canadian authorities were alerted, and she was found deceased later that day. The coroner’s report revealed that she had developed an abdominal infection (peritonitis) as a result of the collision injuries.

The coroner determined that her passing was due to infective complications from the injuries sustained in the car crash. Her health deteriorated after being discharged from the hospital and being separated from her family.

Following her untimely death, heartfelt tributes poured in for Lynda. Carolyn Hitt, the head of Radio Wales, expressed deep sorrow at the loss of their beloved colleague and friend. Terry Walton, Lynda’s co-host on the Plotcast, remembered their time working together with fondness, highlighting her professionalism and creative talents.
