“Beatles Legends Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr Duet on Final Song”

Published on

Legendary Beatles members Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have collaborated on what may be their final song together – a sentimental duet reminiscing about their upbringing in Liverpool. Titled “Home To Us,” the track will be featured on Sir Paul’s upcoming album set for release next month.

Adding to the star-studded lineup, the song includes backing vocals from Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders and Sharleen Spiteri from Texas.

A select group of fans in Los Angeles were given a sneak peek of the album, where Sir Paul himself presented a preview. Among the showcased tracks was “Home To Us,” initially featuring Ringo on drums, who later joined in on vocals. It is believed that the duo will share the chorus in a duet.

During the event, Sir Paul shared with the audience, “Ringo’s never done a duet with one of the Beatles.”

Ringo also mentioned on the Jimmy Kimmel show that he and Sir Paul had collaborated on a song, withholding specific details. Describing the song’s inception, Ringo explained, “It started two years ago with the drums, it was like in reverse, the drums went on first. It’s amusing and very real because that is where we come from.”

The song’s theme revolves around their Liverpool roots, as Sir Paul characterizes it as “a little rough, but home to us.”

In a recent development, the album’s lead single, “The Boys From Dungeon Lane,” was released last month under the album title. The project is said to revisit Sir Paul’s formative years in Liverpool, shaping not only his life but also influencing modern popular culture.

Reflecting on “The Boys From Dungeon Lane,” Paul expressed, “This is very much a memory song for me. The album title, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, comes from a lyric in this track. I was thinking just that, about the days I left behind and I do often wonder if I’m just writing about the past but then I think how can you write about anything else? It’s just a lot of memories of Liverpool.”

Dungeon Lane, once an area near the Mersey shoreline where Paul spent time with friends, is central to the album’s narrative. The locale, known for its daffodil fields in the past, is now recognized for its proximity to Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.

Sir Paul and Ringo’s most recent collaboration was on the 2023 Beatles track “Now And Then,” which was based on an old demo by John Lennon from 1978. The song was promoted as the band’s final release.

Maintaining their close friendship, Sir Paul also contributed a track to an EP by Ringo in 2023. The duo stays connected, frequently conversing via FaceTime.

Sir Paul’s new album, “The Boys From Dungeon Lane,” is scheduled for release on May 29 through MPL/Capitol Records.
