Gordon Ramsay, known for his intense television presence, leads a contrasting life away from the cameras. The 59-year-old celebrity chef resides in a peaceful London suburb with his large family and multiple properties. Since approximately 2002, Gordon and his wife Tana have made Wandsworth in South London their home, purchasing an eight-bedroom property for £7 million as their family expanded. The couple’s six children, including Megan, twins Holly and Jack, Tilly, Oscar, and Jesse James, necessitated all eight bedrooms when they first moved in.
The Ramsay residence in Wandsworth has recently undergone significant renovations, including the creation of a luxurious master suite with two ensuite bathrooms and a walk-in wardrobe. The renovation project, which also included a new basement, a wine cellar, and an extension on the ground floor, was completed in 2024 after the family temporarily relocated.
Although Wandsworth is a popular borough, with notable residents like Keira Knightley, Louis Theroux, and Sting, Gordon does not operate any restaurants in the area. Instead, he has been focusing on developing a new culinary headquarters at 22 Bishopsgate, which will house five new Ramsay restaurants and bars, along with the Gordon Ramsay Academy for cookery and mixology courses. This project, costing £20 million, is Gordon’s most significant restaurant venture yet, as revealed in his Netflix series “Being Gordon Ramsay.”
In the series trailer, Gordon hinted at the possibility of retiring after the completion of the Bishopsgate project, emphasizing the pressure and risks involved in launching multiple businesses simultaneously. His candid acknowledgment of the stakes involved in this venture underscores the magnitude of the project for the renowned chef.
