A family is mourning the loss of their beloved 13-week-old baby girl, Maggie-May Ann Moody, who tragically passed away following a suspected dog attack at a residence in Hardale Grove, Dormanstown, on April 9.
In a touching tribute published in The Gazette, Maggie-May’s family described her as a “perfect” baby who brightened even the gloomiest days with her love, personality, and unique charm. They expressed how she brought joy, laughter, and a lasting warmth to their lives, leaving an irreplaceable void upon her untimely departure.
The funeral service for Maggie-May is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 1, at St Peter’s Church in Redcar at 12 noon, followed by a private burial for family members only. The family has requested attendees to avoid dark attire and instead wear a touch of pink, with contributions to be made to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) Baby Unit in lieu of flowers.
During the inquest into Maggie-May’s death at Teesside Coroner’s Court, it was revealed that she tragically passed away at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough just one day before reaching her three-month milestone. Following the incident, a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of having control over a dog that caused fatal injuries, while a 31-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were also arrested on related charges. All individuals have been released on conditional bail and are not connected to the baby’s family.
