After a school therapy dog was stolen from a teacher’s home, an important update has been provided. The incident left hundreds of pupils in distress as beloved pet Mabel, a Puli breed dog, was taken. Emma Butler, an assistant head at Tenyham CofE Primary School in Teynham, reported the theft to authorities, leading to a social media campaign to recover Mabel.
Mabel was snatched from her residence last Thursday, sparking a search effort aided by drones. Remarkably, she was located in a park just three days later. The four-year-old dog, originally rescued from Hungary, was found in Darenth Country Park, Dartford, approximately 30 miles away from her home in Hazel Street Road, Hucking.
Emma expressed her gratitude after being reunited with Mabel at a veterinary clinic. She commended the community for their support in spreading the word, emphasizing Mabel’s significance in their lives. As a therapy dog, Mabel has been a cherished presence at the school for two years, capturing the hearts of both students and staff alike.
A spokesperson for Kent Police confirmed the theft report and stated that investigations are ongoing to gather more information from the dog’s owner.
