Bill Clinton has finally spoken out about the widely-discussed photo of him swimming in Jeffrey Epstein’s pool, amidst the recent release of videos from his Congress deposition.
The former US President, accompanied by his wife Hillary, appeared before the House Oversight Committee to address his connections with the convicted sex trafficker. During the hearing, he was specifically questioned about the photo that showed him in a pool and lounging in a hot tub.
Details from the closed-door hearing have now surfaced as footage of the proceedings has been made public. In the recordings, an unidentified congressman inquired about the context and background of the photo, to which Clinton responded by claiming he was unaware the photo was being taken. He mentioned that he believed the photo was captured in Brunei at the conclusion of an extended trip to Asia.
Clinton further explained that the Sultan of Brunei, whom he had a close relationship with during his presidency, had arranged his stay at a hotel and encouraged him to utilize the pool to support the Clinton Global Initiative, an organization focused on international development.
Regarding the identity of another individual in the photo, whose information was redacted by the Justice Department, Clinton maintained he was unaware of their identity. He clarified that the other individuals in his group were in a separate pool nearby and emphasized that no children were present during their time in the hot tub.
The former President also denied any allegations of sexual activity that night, stating he only briefly sat in the hot tub before retiring for the evening. Clinton reiterated his lack of knowledge about the individual in question and affirmed his innocence in any misconduct related to Epstein.
