In a recent interview, Blake Fielder-Civil, the former husband of Amy Winehouse, has come forward with a series of statements regarding the late singer. Fielder-Civil denies any responsibility for Amy’s passing, emphasizing that he did not influence her to take heroin.

Amy Winehouse, known for her public struggles with addiction, had been clean from drugs leading up to her death in July 2011 after attending rehab. The cause of her death was determined to be accidental alcohol poisoning by an inquest held at St Pancras Coroner’s Court in London, where it was concluded that her passing was a result of misadventure.

Fielder-Civil, who was married to Amy from 2007 to 2009, spoke about their relationship dynamics during a podcast with Paul Brunson. He clarified that there was no intention to push Amy towards drug use and expressed regret over introducing her to hard substances. Fielder-Civil revealed that he had used heroin a few times before Amy’s first encounter with the drug.

Despite their tumultuous history, Fielder-Civil shared details about his ongoing communication with Amy before her death, mentioning discussions about a potential reconciliation and even the prospect of remarrying. He also disclosed a visit to Amy’s residence in Marylebone about five months prior to her passing, although Amy primarily resided in Camden during her adult life.

Following Amy’s death, her father Mitch Winehouse praised Amy’s efforts to overcome her drug addiction, highlighting her dedication to sobriety. Mitch acknowledged the challenges Amy faced but emphasized that her passing was a tragic accident for which Amy bore responsibility. Amy’s relationship with Reg Traviss, whom she was with until her death, was described as a positive influence by Mitch, who mentioned their plans for a future together.

Despite the ongoing speculation and differing viewpoints on Amy’s life and relationships, the legacy of her music and struggles with addiction continues to resonate with fans and the wider community. The complexities of her personal experiences serve as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of seeking support for those battling addiction issues.
