A woman, Robyn Thorp, faced a dire prognosis when her skin cancer metastasized to her bones, spine, and brain. Initially advised by a GP to monitor a new mole on her shoulder, Robyn was later diagnosed with an aggressive melanoma that rapidly spread throughout her body.

Given just days to live by specialists due to a sudden deterioration in her condition, Robyn’s family initiated a GoFundMe campaign to cover the costs of her crucial immunotherapy treatment, priced at £30,000 per month, not covered by the NHS.

Despite the mole’s inconspicuous appearance at first, Robyn’s concerns grew as its color darkened. Subsequent medical evaluations revealed the severity of her condition, leading to the discovery of melanoma and its rapid dissemination to critical areas like her spine, lung, and eventually her brain.

Facing multiple brain tumors, including new ones complicating treatment due to their proximity to previous growths, Robyn requires private immunotherapy, her only option as NHS does not cover it. Her condition took a drastic turn in November, prompting hospitalization and the grim prediction of her survival.
