A British couple from Canvey, Essex, Simon Batchelor and Lisa Fryett, found themselves in a life-threatening situation during the recent wildfires in Spain. The couple sustained severe injuries while staying near the heavily affected villages of Bédar and Los Gallardos when the fires broke out.
After being stranded on a mountainside, Simon and Lisa were rescued the following day. Despite their critical condition, they expressed their strong desire to see their children again. Currently, they are hospitalized in Spain while their three children have rushed to be with them.
To support the family with emergency expenses, a fundraiser has been initiated, raising over £46,000. The appeal emphasizes the tragic circumstances faced by Simon and Lisa during the wildfire and the urgent need for financial assistance.
Acknowledging the overwhelming kindness and support received, the family expressed gratitude to the people of Spain and local authorities. They particularly praised the Guardia Civil officers for their bravery and unwavering dedication, which facilitated the reunion of Simon and Lisa with their children.
The family urges for continued support, whether through donations, sharing the fundraiser, or keeping them in thoughts and prayers, as they navigate this challenging period.
