“Brother of Suffolk Strangler hints at possible link to Suzy Lamplugh, fears more victims”

Published on

The Suffolk Strangler, Steve Wright, has reportedly disclosed to his brother that he was acquainted with Suzy Lamplugh. David Wright, aged 69, who encouraged his brother to confess to the murder, suspects that there may be more revelations forthcoming. He expresses concern that Steve Wright could potentially be one of the most prolific serial killers in Britain, possibly linked to around 20 murders, including some committed abroad while he was employed on the QE2 cruise ship.

In an interview with The Mirror, David shared, “He told me he knew Suzy Lamplugh. He does recall her. I discussed it with him, and he distinctly remembers her. I believe there may be other women involved. I suspect he could be connected to nearly twenty, possibly early twenties, cases. I simply cannot comprehend what he did with the bodies.”

David also highlights three unsolved suspected murders of sex workers in Norfolk and mentions that authorities in Scotland have reached out to him regarding a series of murders in that region.

Expressing his apprehensions, David remarked, “I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he turns out to be Britain’s most prolific serial killer. Yeah. I know what’s coming. That wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, not in the slightest.”

Following Steve Wright’s admission of murder, there are calls for the police to reexamine unsolved murder cases across the UK. The Metropolitan Police’s cold case unit is currently investigating possible connections between Wright and Suzy Lamplugh, who coincidentally worked on the QE2 at the same time in the 1980s.

Richard Lamplugh, Suzy’s brother, emphasized the importance of investigating any potential leads, stating, “Even if there’s a slim chance, it’s worth investigating. He should be interviewed in prison. It can’t do any harm. If he knows anything, then I’d hope he would tell us.”

Suzy Lamplugh, who went missing at the age of 25 on July 28, 1986, after meeting a client in Fulham, London, was declared dead, presumed murdered in 1993. Despite previous suspicions focused on another individual, the family now acknowledges that law enforcement might have been fixated on the wrong suspect.

In a plea directed at Steve Wright, Richard appealed for closure, saying, “If you know anything, please tell us.” He expressed the family’s desire to uncover the truth about Suzy’s disappearance and bring some sense of closure.

Detectives from the cold-case homicide unit have been revisiting Operation Phoebus, the original investigation into Suzy’s case, following new leads uncovered by the Mirror regarding Wright’s association with the victim during his time working on the QE2.

Family members of other missing women, like Kurtis Pratt, are also urging Wright to reveal any information that could bring peace and closure to their families. Pratt’s mother, Kellie Pratt, disappeared in 2000, and her body was never found, similar to other unsolved cases involving sex workers that may be connected to Wright’s activities.

Steve Wright’s brother suggests that authorities in Scotland are also looking into potential links to murders in that region, considering Wright’s past relationships and visits to Scotland. The investigation spans several cases of female victims found murdered between 1991 and 2005, suggesting a broader pattern of violence possibly involving Wright.

In light of these developments, there is growing pressure for thorough investigations into Wright’s connections to various unsolved murders and disappearances, indicating a potential dark history of violence and crime that authorities are now striving to uncover and resolve.
