Police in Budapest, Hungary apprehended a 30-year-old man suspected of amassing human body parts taken from deserted cemeteries and his workplace at a medical facility. The arrest followed a tipoff received by detectives, leading to a search of the man’s residence where a disturbing collection of body parts, bones, and skin was discovered.
Among the seized items were skulls, a complete lower leg, a hand, and a human facial reconstruction crafted from facial skin. Additionally, various bones were found stashed in a suitcase, along with a preserved heart in a container, the source of which is still under investigation.
During interrogation, the man confessed to gathering the body parts, expressing a specific fascination with human anatomy. Shockingly, he admitted to not only collecting body parts but also consuming them after preparation. He faces charges of unauthorized use of human remains.
Authorities revealed that the man has a keen interest in anatomy and pathology, coupled with a penchant for dissecting animals. They suspect that he procured the body parts through his employment at a medical facility and by exhuming bodies from abandoned graveyards in Slovakia and Hungary.
In a bid to gather more evidence, the police confiscated the man’s electronic devices for further investigation. Forensic experts will examine all recovered body parts to ascertain their origin, potentially leading to an expansion of the charges against the suspect.
