Residents were instructed to evacuate an apartment building following a car crashing into a ground-floor flat late last night. Emergency services swiftly responded to the incident at the junction of Arkwright Way and Meadows Way in Nottingham between 9pm and 10pm on Friday.
The scene at Ryehill House flats in The Meadows depicted a green BMW that had collided into an apartment, seemingly entering through a kitchen. The vehicle’s front was completely inside the building, causing a nearby street sign to be knocked over, scattering brick debris, glass, and foliage across the area.
A police cordon was established, and officers were stationed at the crash site the following morning. The four-story flat complex is located near a busy dual carriageway that links the city to West Bridgeford, as reported by the Nottingham Post.
Authorities instructed residents in the three flats above the impacted apartment to vacate due to concerns about potential structural damage. A resident from another ground-floor flat mentioned being awakened by a loud noise and expressed astonishment at the car’s unexpected presence.
