Carol Vorderman has commended a lesser-known therapy that aided her recovery after experiencing unconsciousness. The former host of Countdown required medical attention following a fall near her residence, resulting in a head injury.
Vorderman, aged 65, sustained a head injury after stumbling over a tree root close to her home and was promptly transported to the hospital by ambulance. Despite being discharged initially, she had to return to Accident and Emergency shortly after.
Speaking to her followers on Instagram, Vorderman shared details of her concussion incident that led to her absence from social media in June. She recounted the incident when she tripped over the unseen tree root, causing her to lose consciousness and necessitate an ambulance ride to the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Following her hospital visits, Vorderman experienced prolonged dizziness, describing a sensation of instability akin to being on a moving ship or feeling the room spinning when lying down. Seeking a solution, she found relief through the Epley technique administered by a practitioner named Sophie at Blue Sky in Bristol Harbor.
The Epley technique targets a condition called BBPV, involving the realignment of displaced inner ear crystals to alleviate symptoms. Vorderman detailed the treatment process, where she was positioned on a doctor’s bed with her legs extended while the physiotherapist performed maneuvers to readjust the crystals.
After undergoing three sessions of the Epley technique, Vorderman reported significant improvement and expressed gratitude to her fans for their ongoing support. Messages of well-wishes and relief flooded her social media accounts, with followers expressing joy at her recovery and appreciation for sharing information about the therapy.
