TV personality Carol Vorderman recently shared details about her past marriages, revealing that her first marriage was a “rebound” situation and that she borrowed two dresses for the occasion. Vorderman, known for her role on the show “Countdown,” married Christopher Mather in 1985, but the marriage only lasted a year. She later married Patrick King, with whom she had two children, before their divorce in 2000.
During an interview on Channel 5’s “A Night In with Sally Lindsay,” Vorderman discussed her wedding experiences. She mentioned that for her first marriage, which she described as not counting due to its rushed nature, she borrowed both her wedding dress and evening attire.
Vorderman humorously recounted how she borrowed her wedding dress from a costume cage, which was a mesh outfit adorned with sequins, for her second wedding. She even sang “It’s Raining Men” on stage as the bride, a detail she joked might have contributed to the marriage’s short duration.
Regarding her second marriage, Vorderman has kept the reasons for the split private, expressing regret over the divorce and her mother’s belief that they should have stayed together. She revealed that career demands may have played a role in the relationship’s end.
Vorderman, who has not remarried since her divorce from King, has embraced a non-monogamous lifestyle and values her close friendships. She expressed contentment with her current situation, stating that she has no interest in pursuing another marriage and enjoys her social life and independence.
