An ITV celebrity chef, Parveen Ashraf, known as Parveen the Spice Queen, recently shared the heartbreaking news of her husband’s tragic death due to a robbery in Ghana. Ashraf, aged 61, revealed the loss of her husband, Ashraf Qamar Parvez, 68, who passed away six months ago in Ghana.

In a video posted on Instagram to her 30k followers, Ashraf expressed her tentative return to work following the personal tragedy. She reflected on her uncertainty about resuming work after her husband’s untimely demise and the impact it has had on her.

Acknowledging the pain of grief, Ashraf mentioned that her late husband would not want her to dwell in self-pity and encouraged her to move forward with life. She conveyed a heartfelt message to her husband, bidding him to rest in peace.

The tragic incident occurred in November 2025 when Parvez was shot while attempting to prevent thieves from stealing his phone at a location near Accra. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Ashraf also paid tribute to her late husband in July through a post on social media, reminiscing about their journey together over the years. She disclosed their life’s path, following her husband through various locations, and expressed her everlasting love and admiration for him.

Parvez, a civil engineer and property development manager, married Ashraf in 1987, and they raised three children together. Ashraf transitioned into a TV chef after her cookbook release and weekly food column in the Peterborough Telegraph.
