Three individuals, including an 8-year-old child, have been hospitalized following an incident where a vehicle struck pedestrians and then crashed into a motorway service station located at Cardiff Gate services near junction 30 of the M4 around 11:45 am today, as confirmed by the police.

The injured parties, as reported by the authorities, include the child and a 39-year-old man who were pedestrians, along with a 76-year-old female who was the driver of the black BMW car involved in the collision. An eyewitness disclosed that the car hit people seated outside the service building before ramming into the main structure, causing significant damage.

Describing the scene as distressing, the witness mentioned that a group of around 15 individuals rushed to lift the car off the victims. The impact of the collision shattered the windowfront of the building. The witness speculated that the driver might have experienced a medical emergency due to the high speed at which the vehicle crashed into the building. Emergency services promptly responded to the scene.

In an official statement, South Wales Police stated, “We are currently dealing with an incident at the Cardiff Gate Services where a car collided with a retail premises on the site. Three individuals, including an 8-year-old child, a 39-year-old man, and a 76-year-old woman, have been taken to the hospital. Fortunately, none of the injuries are life-threatening.”
