A search is ongoing at a popular holiday destination in Cyprus following the alleged abduction of a young child from his British mother’s residence. The distressed mother alerted authorities after the child’s father, accused of kidnapping the toddler, reportedly took the boy from the coastal vacation spot with an accomplice.

Law enforcement officials are actively pursuing leads and examining the potential escape route taken by the suspects. Reports indicate that the mother is receiving support through the Hope program, which aids victims of domestic abuse.

The incident occurred in Limassol, a major city on the southern coast of Cyprus frequented by visitors from various countries. Authorities have inspected a suspected vehicle believed to be linked to the abduction as they continue their urgent search for the child.

The two-year-old was reportedly taken by a 29-year-old Turkish Cypriot man who illegally crossed over from the island’s northern Turkish-controlled areas. The father, who had a previous arrest warrant related to domestic violence, is suspected to have returned to the northern part of the island, prompting specialized units to track his movements.

Investigations are underway regarding a social media video posted by the father, allegedly showing him with the child in a vehicle. The man forcibly entered the residence early on Wednesday morning, seized the child, and fled the scene in a small white car with another individual.
