A significant rescue mission was initiated today following a boat fire and subsequent sinking at a popular coastal location. The Coast Guard received a distress call about a blaze onboard an 11-meter pleasure craft near Dun Laoghaire. Moments later, a lifeboat from Dun Laoghaire RNLI arrived, successfully evacuating four adults on board to safety on shore. Other responders, including Gardai, Dun Laoghaire All Weather Lifeboat, Dublin Port tug, and Dublin Fire Brigade, also arrived at the scene. The fire was extinguished around 5pm, leading to the vessel’s submersion. A Department of Transport spokesperson confirmed the incident details, highlighting the swift response and successful evacuation of the individuals by the rescue teams.
