A lawsuit revealed that a young child suffered serious injuries after being thrown into the air by a daycare worker and then falling to the ground. The incident, which occurred at The Bay Club Clubhouse in Santa Monica Bay, California, involved a 23-month-old boy known as “C.K.” in March 2025.

Photographs from the lawsuit exhibit the child being raised above the daycare worker’s head before being dropped to the ground, with both individuals landing on the floor. Following the fall, C.K. cried and displayed signs of distress, including a head injury and hearing impairment, as detailed in legal documents filed by his parents, Matt and Elena Kittle.

The child’s father, Mr. Kittle, was informed about the incident by the Bay Club staff, who initially downplayed the severity of the situation. However, C.K.’s condition worsened, prompting Mr. Kittle to pick him up. Upon examination at the emergency room, C.K. was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury resulting from the fall.

The lawsuit alleges that the daycare facility, El Segundo Bay Club, operated without a license from the California Department of Social Services, claiming an exemption due to parents’ presence on the premises. The Kittles are seeking legal recourse, citing negligence, battery, fraud, and emotional distress caused by the daycare’s actions.

Despite attempts to reach out, The Bay Club has not responded to requests for comments on the matter.
