Belgium also experienced record-breaking temperatures, reaching 35.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the highest ever recorded for June 24th.
The UK’s Met Office confirmed that Wednesday marked the hottest June day on record, hitting 36.1 degrees Celsius in Gosport, Hampshire.
