DJ Fat Tony is embracing his 60th birthday with exuberant celebrations, filled with gratitude for each day. Teaming up with his longtime friend, Fatboy Slim, for a performance at Camp Bestival in Dorset, the duo shares not only similar names but also a journey of sobriety. With Tony marking 20 years and Fatboy Slim 17 years of sobriety, they are set to rock the stage together. Additionally, Tony, also known as Tony Marnoch, will be headlining Electric Paradise on August 8 at Milton Keynes Bowl.

Speaking from Ibiza, where he is gearing up for a show at super club Amnesia alongside his husband, creative director Stavros Agapiou, Tony expresses immense contentment with his life. Having tied the knot in a star-studded London ceremony in May 2025, he reflects on his past struggles with addiction, spanning nearly three decades. Despite the challenges, he acknowledges that his journey has led him to a place of profound happiness and gratitude.

Hailing from a London council estate and immersing himself in the club and acid house scenes of the 1980s and 1990s in London and New York, Tony recounts his turbulent past, including encounters with music icons like Freddie Mercury, Boy George, and Kate Moss. Despite facing severe addiction issues and squandering a significant sum on drugs, he views his past as a learning experience that has shaped his present contentment.

Transitioning from a history of drug addiction, Tony now finds solace in shopping, confessing to a burgeoning shopping addiction that has replaced his previous vices. He humorously compares his shopping obsession with that of his friend Sir Elton John, emphasizing the transformative power of redirecting addictive tendencies towards a less harmful outlet.

Looking ahead, Tony is optimistic about the future of the UK nightlife industry, particularly under the new leadership. He praises initiatives like the 20% cut in business rates for nightclubs and advocates for further support, highlighting the cultural significance of clubs and festivals in British society. With a strong belief in the transformative potential of nightlife venues, Tony envisions a vibrant future for the industry, catering to diverse preferences and fostering social connections.

As he continues to inspire through his music and personal journey, DJ Fat Tony remains a beacon of resilience and positivity, advocating for the preservation and revitalization of nightlife establishments across the UK.
