The Duchess of Cambridge recently shared an endearing insight about her youngest child, Prince Louis, and his future aspirations. During a visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire last October, where she serves as Royal Honorary Air Commodore, Kate revealed her son’s keen interest in becoming a fighter pilot when he grows up.
Arriving at the base via helicopter, the Duchess received a briefing on the base’s involvement in operations in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. She then explored a Typhoon aircraft with Wing Commander Luke ‘Wilko’ Wilkinson, showing a strong interest in the advanced technology and weaponry.
Kate even disclosed Louis’s ambition to pursue a career as a fighter pilot, acknowledging the dedication and effort required for such a path. She was presented with model Typhoons for her children, indicating their excitement about her aviation experience.
During her visit, Kate had the opportunity to try out the Typhoon Future Synthetic Training Facility simulator, where she displayed a natural flair for piloting. Group Captain Paul O’Grady hinted at the possibility of Kate becoming a qualified pilot herself.
This visit marked the Duchess of Cambridge’s first official visit to RAF Coningsby since assuming her role as Royal Honorary Air Commodore in August 2023.
