Police discovered a body in a river during the search for a missing woman in close proximity to a university. Jill Grint, aged 79, was last spotted around 10:30 am on Friday near her residence in Earlham, Norfolk, wearing a blue coat, navy trousers, navy trainers, and carrying a yellow bag.
Authorities recovered a woman’s body from the River Yare in Cringleford, Norfolk this afternoon after being alerted by the public. Although formal identification is pending, Jill’s family has been notified of the situation.
Law enforcement mentioned that the incident is not considered suspicious, and they will be compiling a report for the coroner. The Norfolk Constabulary confirmed, “The body of a woman has been found in the River Yare in Cringleford. The discovery was made by the public this afternoon on December 6, 2025. The family of Jill Grint, who was reported missing in the Earlham area, has been informed.”
Earlier, authorities expressed concerns about Jill’s well-being and urged anyone with information to come forward.
