Ellie Goulding has announced the title of her upcoming sixth studio album, “I Know Too Much,” set to be released in three months, specifically in September. This album marks her first release since the 2023 album “Higher Than Heaven.”

The 39-year-old artist collaborated with producer and multi-instrumentalist Jack Rochon on this album, sharing in a recent interview that they have worked on numerous songs together, exploring various sounds, emotions, thoughts, and experiences. She described the process as organic and sincere, akin to journaling through music.

In addition to the album announcement, Ellie will be dropping a new single titled “Black Prada Dress” from the forthcoming album this Friday, June 5. The debut of this single took place at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Sunderland, North East England.

Discussing the inspiration behind “Black Prada Dress,” Ellie mentioned that the song addresses the negative and critical inner voice that can undermine one’s confidence. She emphasized the raw and honest nature of the track and hopes that listeners will find their own connections to it.

The upcoming album will also touch on Ellie’s separation from her ex-husband, Caspar Jopling, in 2024 after five years of marriage. The singer, who has a four-year-old son named Arthur with Jopling, referred to this album as a “divorce album,” expressing that some songs reflect her past experiences while others represent her evolving emotions and outlook.

Ellie, who welcomed her second child, Iris, with her boyfriend Beau Minniear in March, noted that the album’s evolution mirrors her changing feelings over time, transitioning from darker and angrier tones to a more optimistic and hopeful perspective.

The album “I Know Too Much” is scheduled for release on September 4, with the single “Black Prada Dress” dropping this Friday.
