Flights to popular European destinations are facing disruptions, leaving travelers stranded just before the summer vacation season. Major aviation issues have arisen in countries like Italy, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK, leading to the cancellation of 63 flights and the rescheduling of 1,755 flights.

The exact cause of these disruptions in Europe remains unknown, but airlines globally have expressed concerns regarding rising jet fuel costs and potential supply shortages. The jet fuel supply chain has been significantly impacted by the recent US-Iran conflict, initiated by joint US and Israel strikes on key Iranian sites. This conflict led to retaliatory actions by Iran, including the closure of the vital Strait of Hormuz trade route, through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes, resulting in a strain on global oil availability and affecting air travel.

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport experienced the most significant impact, with a high number of delayed flights. The airport reported 313 delayed flights and 13 cancellations, leaving passengers waiting for extended periods.

Among the affected airlines, Air France faced the most delays, with 117 flights experiencing delays and 17 cancellations. Other major carriers like United Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Eurowings, Condor, Air Dolomiti, Transavia Airlines, and Norwegian Air Sweden also encountered disruptions, as reported by Travel and Tour World.
