Former bodyguard of Princess Diana, Ken Wharfe, has criticized ex-Prince Andrew as “one of the most conceited individuals I’ve ever encountered.” The disgraced Duke of York was apprehended on his 66th birthday at Wood Farm in Norfolk on suspicion of public office misconduct. He was detained for 11 hours by Thames Valley Police for allegedly sharing confidential information with Epstein during his role as a British trade envoy. Despite his denial of any wrongdoing related to Jeffrey Epstein, he has not been formally charged.
Wharfe, a former Scotland Yard inspector trained by the SAS, served as Princess Diana’s personal protection officer and described his professional interactions with Andrew as highly arrogant. He expressed his reluctance to comment on the matter until recently, emphasizing the ongoing toxicity surrounding the Duke of York.
Following the release of millions of files by the US Department of Justice regarding the Epstein scandal, the King voiced his deep concern and stated that the law should proceed with the case. The situation has also implicated Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, with disclosed emails showing her request for financial assistance from Epstein in 2009.
Wharfe hinted at the potential impact of the Andrew scandal on King Charles and the monarchy’s future direction. He highlighted the significance of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle within the institution, suggesting that their departure had altered the royal family’s dynamics.
While acknowledging Harry’s current lifestyle in California, Wharfe speculated on the possibility of his return to the royal fold, indicating a lingering uncertainty about his role in the monarchy’s future.
