The family of a 24-year-old woman who tragically lost her life at her residence in Hayes has honored her memory with heartfelt words. Kirandeep Kaur, a young mother from India, was the victim of a fatal assault in her home.
A suspect has been formally accused of the murder of Kaur. Gursharan, Kaur’s sister, communicated via a translator from the Majha region of Punjab, India, expressing that her sister held a deeply significant role in her life.
Gursharan, aged 21, shared that her sister had moved to London in pursuit of better job opportunities to provide for their family’s needs.
To assist with the funeral expenses, a fundraising initiative has been initiated.
One of the statements from the fundraising page describes Kirandeep Kaur as a 24-year-old student from Punjab, India, who came to the UK with aspirations of securing a brighter future for herself and her family.
The sudden and tragic loss of Kirandeep has left her infant child motherless and her family in India grappling with grief and financial burdens incurred in support of her ambitions.
The community at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall has come together to extend practical and financial aid during this challenging time.
Daniel Sean James, aged 46, allegedly carried out the attack on Kirandeep Kaur at her residence in Hayes, West London, on the morning of July 12, as reported by The Mirror.
Subsequently, he purportedly leaped out of a window, fracturing both ankles, before being apprehended by law enforcement nearby.
Before the incident, James was allegedly observed walking through a playing field in Hayes garbed in all black and carrying a large knife. Surveillance footage and doorbell cameras purportedly captured his presence at multiple addresses before he allegedly stabbed a man in his 20s in the back on the street.
Shortly after, around 7.51am, he allegedly forcefully entered the home shared by Mrs. Kaur, her husband, and their three-month-old baby, while they were asleep. The husband awoke to his wife’s scream and witnessed a figure leaving the bedroom, according to prosecutor Charlene Sumnall.
James exited the property through a window in the kitchen-living room area and, having sustained injuries, attempted to flee but collapsed shortly after.
From the initial sighting of the suspect to the arrival of law enforcement at the scene, approximately 24 minutes transpired.
Tragically, Mrs. Kaur succumbed to a stab wound to the chest and was declared deceased at 8.26am.
The court was informed that both victims had no prior acquaintance with the defendant, who received medical treatment before being taken into custody.
James has been formally charged with the murder of Mrs. Kaur, attempted murder, and possession of a bladed weapon.
During a court appearance via videolink from Wormwood Scrubs, James, residing at Mercer Place, Pinner, West London, was remanded into custody after confirming his identity.
Judge Nigel Lickley KC scheduled a plea hearing for October 1 and tentatively set a three-week trial commencing on April 5 next year.
