The family of a mother of five is seeking to bring her back home to her children as she remains hospitalized in Gran Canaria due to sepsis. Emily Casey, 34, fell ill while on vacation with her husband and kids and was placed in a coma after experiencing breathing difficulties. Initially suspected to have a blood clot, she was later diagnosed with recurrent pneumonia, requiring fluid drainage from her lung.
Her husband, Jamie, caring for their children, was shocked to find Emily in an induced coma upon his return to the hospital the next morning. Emily’s condition worsened, and she was diagnosed with sepsis, alongside a resurgence of pneumonia in her lungs. Despite being conscious intermittently, Emily is still in the hospital, prompting her family to appeal for help to raise funds for a medical flight back to the UK.
The family set up a GoFundMe page to gather support for Emily’s return. Donations are being sought to cover the costs of the medical flight, with a target of £50,000. Emily’s children, Summer, Oscar, Isabelle, Sophia, and Willow, anxiously await their mother’s return as the family remains determined to reunite her with her loved ones.
