Three individuals have been apprehended following the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old woman outside a bar in the city center of Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police responded to a shooting incident outside the One Four One Bar around 2:45 am on Monday. Law enforcement discovered evidence consistent with a firearms discharge and took two men and a woman into custody in relation to the event.

One man and the woman were arrested in Greater Manchester near Stockport early Monday, while the second man was detained in Sheffield. They are currently being held for interrogation.

Authorities announced on Monday afternoon the initiation of a murder investigation in light of the occurrence. Although formal identification is pending, the victim’s family has been notified.

Assistant Chief Constable Colin McFarlane expressed deep sorrow over the incident resulting in the loss of a young woman’s life during a night out over the bank holiday weekend in Sheffield. He emphasized the focus on the victim’s family and friends, with ongoing investigations led by the Major Crime Team and three individuals arrested on suspicion of murder.

McFarlane urged individuals who witnessed the incident or have information about those involved to come forward, either directly to the police or anonymously through Crimestoppers. He highlighted the urgency of providing information to bring closure to the victim’s family.

Following the incident, road closures have been implemented on West Street, where the bar is situated, between Mappin Street and Westfield Terrace. Additionally, Eldon Street, Westhill Lane, and part of Orange Street are closed, with drivers advised to find alternative routes.

Public transportation services into the city have been disrupted, affecting tram services between Cathedral and Middlewood or Malin Bridge until further notice. Supertram announced ticket acceptance agreements with First and Stagecoach through the affected area.

Individuals with information are encouraged to reach out to South Yorkshire Police via phone or online, referencing incident number 135 of May 25. Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously for assistance.
