A female postal worker was assaulted in a violent robbery where packages were stolen from her delivery van, as authorities are on the lookout for the perpetrators. The incident occurred in Goyt View, Newtown on December 17, with Derbyshire Constabulary releasing descriptions of the two suspects involved.
The Royal Mail employee, in her 30s, was physically attacked before the parcels were taken. The individuals sought by the police were disguised as road maintenance workers and were reportedly driving a white Ford Transit van. The primary suspect is described as a white man with a substantial build, dark hair, aged in his 30s or 40s, wearing a green parka coat and a black woolen bobble hat.
The second suspect, whose gender remains unknown, is also white and in their 30s or early 40s, dressed in a grey tracksuit, a yellow high-visibility vest, and a dark baseball cap.
Authorities stated, “A Royal Mail worker was assaulted and had packages stolen during an incident in the High Peak. The incident occurred at 11 am on Wednesday, December 17 in Goyt View, Newtown. The suspects, driving a white Ford Transit van and disguised as road maintenance workers, were described as follows: the first person – a white man of large build, aged in his 30s/40s, with dark hair, wearing a green parka coat and a black woolen bobble hat. The second person – of unknown gender, white, in their 30s or early 40s, wearing a grey tracksuit, a yellow high-visibility vest, and a dark baseball cap.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information or footage related to the incident to come forward. Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking public assistance in identifying the individuals involved.
