Masked individuals were captured on CCTV launching firebombs at a Muslim prayer room in Blackburn, Lancashire, marking the second attack on the location within a week. The spiritual room, situated at the front of Café Raha, caught fire after the perpetrators threw lit bottles of accelerant at the building around 2:30 am on a Tuesday morning. The incident occurred shortly after a similar attack last week, although authorities have stated that there is no indication of racial motivation behind either event.

Video footage depicted a group of men wearing balaclavas throwing firebombs through the windows of the building, causing it to ignite. Firefighters responded to extinguish the fire, and the police launched an investigation into the matter. Lancashire police released a statement clarifying that while the motive for the attack is still under investigation, there is currently no evidence of racial or religious bias.

Mohammed Awais, the owner of the establishment, expressed dismay, stating, “We have invested our time and effort into this place without causing harm to anyone. It is distressing to see such dangerous acts against us.” He emphasized the impact on the livelihoods of staff and urged the culprits to address any issues directly rather than resorting to reckless actions.

Additionally, Awais extended gratitude to the fire teams and local residents for their swift response to the incident. The Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed their attendance at the scene, where they extinguished a fire in the single-story building on Whalley New Road, Blackburn.
