An internet personality focused on fitness and ‘looksmaxxing’ tragically passed away this month after reportedly injecting liquid gold in hopes of gaining superhuman abilities. Connor Michael Murphy died on July 8 at a luxury rental residence in Banh Phil, Thailand, where police responded to a disturbance.
Law enforcement found him exhibiting erratic behavior and engaging in nude activities. Thai authorities stated that Connor attempted to evade officers by entering a lake, leading to the fatal incident.
Before his demise, the 32-year-old had been transitioning his online bodybuilding content to emphasize spirituality and religion, working on a documentary. Allegedly, Connor, intrigued by the mystical properties of gold, started experimenting with injecting gold after learning of a debunked study linking gold ingestion to increased intelligence.
According to acquaintances, Connor’s fascination with gold led to extreme behavior, including self-injection and erratic conduct. Despite warnings from friends about the dangers of injecting gold, some believed he had achieved extraordinary abilities through his unorthodox practices.
Authorities have yet to confirm the claims regarding Connor’s alleged superhuman abilities, and the official cause of death remains undetermined. Concerns about his mental state had been raised by friends leading up to the tragic event.
Specialists recovered Connor’s body from the lake after a search operation. Authorities discovered unused syringes and unidentified tablets in his possession, along with paint splattered in his rented accommodation. Connor, with a substantial social media following, shared content on various topics like bodybuilding, fitness, philosophy, and humor.
