The former spouse of the notorious ‘Suffolk Strangler’ and former colleagues of serial killer Steve Wright are urging authorities to question him regarding the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh.
Diane Cole, aged 71, expressed concerns that Steve Wright, whom she described as a contemporary ‘Jack the Ripper,’ may have been involved in Suzy’s case. She highlighted that Wright and Suzy had crossed paths while working aboard the QE2 ship, where he exhibited suspicious behavior.
Diane emphasized the importance of Wright disclosing the truth for the sake of Suzy’s family and other potential victims. Following Wright’s recent court admission, Diane has been haunted by memories of his actions, particularly a peculiar encounter at her residence in Essex during the time Suzy went missing.
Former colleague Terry Cassidy, now 72, also recalled Wright’s odd demeanor while working together on the luxury liner in the 1980s. Wright recently confessed to the abduction and murder of Victoria Hall, adding to his previous convictions for killing five women in Ipswich in 2006. Concerns linger that Wright could be linked to additional crimes, including Suzy’s unsolved disappearance in 1986.
Despite initial suspicions surrounding another individual, John Cannan, who has since passed away, doubts remain about the true culprit behind Suzy’s vanishing. Diane shared memories of working alongside Suzy and described Wright’s violent tendencies during their time on the ship.
Witnesses from that period recalled Wright’s disturbing actions, including his drug use and aggressive behavior towards Diane. The lingering suspicions and unanswered questions surrounding Suzy’s case continue to fuel demands for a fresh investigation into Wright’s potential involvement.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed an ongoing investigation into Suzy’s disappearance, emphasizing their commitment to seeking justice for her family. Despite the passage of over three decades, detectives persevere in pursuing leads to unravel the mystery surrounding Suzy’s fate.
