Former Coronation Street actress Nicola Thorp has shared the challenges she faced in pursuing her acting career. Despite achieving success on the popular TV show, she revealed that she accumulated a significant debt of £30,000 from drama school fees over the years.

During an appearance on This Morning, the 36-year-old former soap star disclosed her ongoing financial burden, which stemmed from her time at the Arts Educational School in London from 2007 to 2010. She highlighted the struggle many students face, often juggling work to support their education while missing out on essential learning opportunities.

After portraying the character Nicola Rubinstein on ITV’s Coronation Street for two years until 2019, Nicola transitioned to journalism and presenting. Her media journey included regular appearances on This Morning and co-hosting TalkTV’s Talk Today until 2024.

In addition to her broadcasting roles, Nicola ventured into reality TV by participating in Celebrity Hunted with her husband Nikesh Patel in 2023. Following this adventure, the couple welcomed a baby girl, sharing their joy and exhaustion on social media.
