Lee claimed to have been held at a black site near the Qatar-Oman border against his will, alleging mistreatment and restriction of communication. He mentioned signing non-disclosure agreements with authorities, preventing him from sharing specific details. His outstanding debts, including substantial sums owed to a car rental company and a law firm in the UAE, have put him in a precarious financial situation.

Katie, who had flown to Dubai during Lee’s imprisonment, did not contribute financially to his release. Moreover, it was confirmed that Lee had a travel ban during his time behind bars, contradicting his previous denials of such restrictions.
