Former Spandau Ballet member, Ross Davidson, also known as Ross Wild, has been convicted of rape and attempted sexual assault. The 37-year-old actor, known for his roles in the West End musical “We Will Rock You” and as the lead singer of Spandau Ballet in 2018, was found guilty by jurors at Wood Green Crown Court in London.

According to the court proceedings, Davidson, originally from Aberdeen and active in musical theatre, believed he could easily obtain sexual favors. Despite denying the charges, he was found guilty of raping a woman in London in 2015, as well as attempting to rape and sexually assault another woman in Thailand in 2019. Davidson had previously admitted to voyeurism in the Thailand incident, where he had recorded the woman without her knowledge.

The prosecution portrayed Davidson as a charming and charismatic individual with a darker side, capable of resorting to sexual assault if his desires were not met. Despite portraying himself as “sex positive” and advocating open dialogue about sexual preferences, Davidson’s actions were deemed non-consensual by the victims.

One of the victims testified that Davidson had assaulted her while she was asleep, using a sex collar and wrist cuffs without her consent. Another woman recounted waking up in a hotel room to Davidson attempting to have sex without her permission. Detectives discovered incriminating videos on Davidson’s phone, confirming the assaults.

During the trial, Davidson admitted to voyeurism but denied the sexual assault charges. He expressed regret for his actions and acknowledged the harm caused. The court revealed that Davidson had a history of similar offenses, leading to his conviction for rape, sexual assault, and voyeurism.
