“Former Spy’s Novichok Poisoning Property for Sale”

Published on

A property linked to the infamous Russian Novichok poisoning, where former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were targeted, is up for sale at a price of £114,000.

The Skripals were victims of a nerve agent attack in March 2018, where the poison was applied to the doorhandle of their home in Salisbury. They were discovered incapacitated on a bench, taken to the hospital in critical condition, and later provided with new identities upon recovery.

Tragically, Dawn Sturgess succumbed to the poison four months later after coming into contact with a perfume bottle containing the lethal substance, unknowingly gifted by her partner. Investigations by British intelligence agencies pointed to Russian military involvement in the attack, a claim vehemently denied by the Kremlin.

The three-bedroom residence, previously owned by the Skripals, is now being promoted on Rightmove as a contemporary family dwelling situated in a convenient yet secluded residential area.

Described by Carter & May real estate agents, the house features a modernized kitchen, solar panels, parking space for three vehicles, a spacious backyard, and close proximity to schools and transportation facilities.

The property details highlight the ground floor’s layout, which includes a large reception room with dedicated sitting and dining areas, a sleek kitchen with modern fixtures, a utility room, and a cloakroom for added convenience.

Upstairs, the house offers three well-proportioned bedrooms serviced by a family bathroom, designed to cater to various living arrangements for potential buyers.

Prospective buyers are informed that the property was involved in the Novichok incident of 2018, following which it underwent extensive decontamination before being deemed safe for habitation.

Since the decontamination process, other occupants have resided in the house, and recent enhancements have been made to the property according to the estate agent’s listing.

Wiltshire Council is offering the house for sale under a shared ownership scheme, with a 30% share priced at £114,000 and the opportunity for buyers to eventually acquire up to 75% ownership, with a monthly rent of £559.52 for the remaining share.
