An ordinary sleepover turned into a nightmare for parents as two teenagers were sexually assaulted by a well-known TV personality who was meant to ensure their safety. John Alford, a former star of London’s Burning, was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison in January for his despicable crimes involving four counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of sexual assault and assault by penetration on another female.
Tragically, Alford was found dead in his prison cell just two months after his conviction. The court revealed that the assaults took place during a sleepover at a friend’s house, where Alford took advantage of being the only adult present with the girls. He provided them with alcohol purchased from a nearby petrol station and engaged in sexual acts with them.
One of the victims, a 14-year-old girl, bravely spoke out about the assault, expressing her fear and trauma. She underwent medical examinations and treatments following the incident, detailing the impact it had on her mental and emotional well-being. The other victim, who was 15 at the time of the assault, shared her harrowing experience of self-harm and suicidal thoughts that resulted from Alford’s actions.
Despite the severe consequences suffered by the victims, Alford showed no remorse during his trial. The court emphasized his lack of acknowledgment of the harm caused and sentenced him to prison. However, his death in custody has brought a tragic end to this disturbing case, with investigations underway to determine the circumstances of his passing.
